I specialize in work with adults, adolescents, and couples. This includes family therapy wherever possible. The issues I specialize include the following: abuse, anxiety, learning disabilities, divorce, depression, parenting, stress management, grief & loss.
I believe psychotherapy is an important tool in heling people discover their natural ability to heal, to love, and to grow. I emphasize the development of a safe environment in my office to facilitate the opening and awareness necessary to discover new ways of relating to oneself and to others. Sometimes, this involves resolving past hurt and trauma, in order to more effectively manage or express oneself in the present. I believe in both brief and long term approaches depending on my client's needs and goals. I work with adolescents age 13 and up as well as adults. I also enjoy helping couples find more respect and connection withing their relationship.
I am a strong believer in a collaborative approach with my clients: I help people develop new and healthier perspectives of themselves and their lives as a means to relieving their depression and anxiety. It is important to me to help my clients awaken their trust in themselves. I have a hollistic approach to mental health through attention to diet, exercise, meditation, social support, and balance.
