Practice Description
I specialize and hold certification in Discernment Counseling, a brief (usually 1-5 sessions) counseling for couples who are unsure whether they want to work on the relationship. Discernment Counseling is particularly helpful for couples in which one is leaning out of the relationships, and the other is leaning in; still wishing to save it.
I work with families and individuals in which eating disorders and/or substance abuse are present. In addition to counseling, I provide family education and coaching on effective ways to help an addicted or eating disordered loved-one. I understand the unique dynamics and challenges of ACOA.
I treat most mental illnesses, including depression, anxiety and bipolar disorders, and have extensive experience working with co-occurring mental health/eating disorders/substance abuse.
For those who have suffered trauma, I am certified in EMDR, a powerful means of healing from the effects of abuse, neglect and family dysfunction.
