Practice Description
I am a Professor of Marriage and Family Therapy and a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist. I provide individual, couple, and family therapy. I have experience with a wide range of problems, and specialize in working with couples with relationship troubles. Often when we confront challenges our sense of hope that we can improve is diminished. I see my role as an agent of hope. As we work together, I help create a context where hope can prevail, where options for overcoming challenges and achieving goals are discovered, and where new connections are created.
I received my Ph.D. from Texas Tech University, one of the few nationally accredited MFT doctoral programs in the nation. I love my dual role as a therapist and as a trainer of new therapists. It requires me to stay up to date on the latest advances in our field.
I recently won a national award for my research on hope in couples therapy from the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
