Practice Description
I offer psychotherapy for adolescents, families and couples, utilizing a family systems orientation, integrated with cognitive and behavioral strategies. For couples therapy I utilize the Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy model, having completed Externship and Core Skills trainings. I use Prepare/Enrich for pre-marital counseling and as an assessment tool for marital therapy. In my work with children and adolescents I will often incorporate the use of art and play therapies. Among the issues I can help with are depression, anxiety, grief/loss, trauma recovery, addiction, divorce/remarriage, affair recovery, parenting, ADHD, and defiance/aggression in teens. I also conduct Parenting with Love & Logic seminars for churches, schools, and groups in the Portland/Vancouver area. As a person of faith, I encourage the engagement of your faith orientation with the therapeutic process, and respect the particular worldview you may bring. My experience includes intensive outpatient therapy with children and families in inner-city Los Angeles, inpatient psychiatric treatment of children and adolescents, and counseling provided in residential and school-based programs.
I also provide supervision for post-graduates seeking licensure in Oregon and/or Washington.
