Practice Description
“Are you feeling desperate or stuck? Lonely even though you are in a relationship? Frustrated that your needs are not being met? Angry that a loved one has betrayed your trust? Perhaps you are suffering from trauma or grief.
I work with individuals, couples and families coping with relationship stressors, depression, anxiety, mood swings, grief and trauma. I also work with those in recovery from addictions, including substances and gambling. This also includes work with their families, even if the addict has chosen not to seek help. Couple therapy is an important focus of my work, including rebuilding trust after a betrayal, and sex therapy. I do relationship counseling with couples of all sexual orientations, including pre-marital and sex therapy.
I help adults and children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD/ADD) to provide support for parents, and behavior management skills for the person struggling to succeed in life with this diagnosis.
I am also trained to use a powerful tool called EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which is documented to provide significant relief from the symptoms of traumatic experiences, both recent and past. I am trained at Levels I and II, by renowned EMDR trainer Laurel Parnell, Ph.D., who is a certified trainer for the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA).
Finally, where and when appropriate, I work closely with our staff psychiatrists (as well as your own, where indicated) to ensure an optimal outcome.
