Practice Description
Often, our feelings of contentment are strongly influenced by our tendency to compare. Why do we so easily believe that we don't measure up, or are not good enough? What if, we all possessed the skill set to build strength, resiliency and hope in our lives? Working in the Co-occurring disorder and substance abuse field for many years, I know that it is possible to heal wounded spirits and repair lives. Working with the HIV(+) and LGBT community, emphasizes my belief, that all people are born, "good enough." I can help you remove the barriers to remembering this.
Using relational and psychodynamic psychotherapy, we will explore how you can build greater confidence and self-esteem. You will develop new skill sets to transform negative self talk into motivational decision making. Victor Frankl said, The last of the human freedoms...is to choose one's attitude." You can choose.
I am also the Coordinator of the Mental Health Department at Tarzana Treatment Centers. In addition, I am on the Adjunct Faculty at Phillips Graduate School. I offer supervision and consultation for other professionals in the field as well. I know that people can grow in profoundly positive ways.
