Practice Description
I believe that most of us have the ability to make the changes we desire, but can truly benefit from having an advocate to the process of (emotional, cognitive and/or behavioral) change and new skills acquisition. Because I believe that each of our genetics, personalities and histories are unique, I strive to treat each client as an individual and to work from a diverse, integrated theoretical framework. About 60% of my work is relational in nature. This may take the form of working with couples and families to improve communication patterns, manage conflict, and enhance closeness and joy. With individuals, often we may work to change unsatisfactory relationship choices or patterns. In the other 40% percent of my practice, I specialize in issues such as depression, relationship break-ups, stress-management, monetary issues, trauma recovery, blended family issues, adult children of alcoholics or narcissists, infertililty issues, addictions, grief, and GLBT concerns. I love my work, and if you are invested in your personal work, we may make a great team!
