Practice Description
My graduate training included numerous therapeutic modalities and techniques and am oriented as a systems therapist. By that, I believe we do not live our lives in a vacuum and that everything happens within the context of a system, whether it is work, family, marriage, etc. Within these systems patterns develop. Frequently, people are stuck in these patterns and need help to break free. I assist my clients to:
- Become more aware of the various systems of which they are a part
- Learn how the systems operate and overlap,
- Identify their roles in the various systems and
- Acknowledge their behaviors that perpetuate both positive and negative patterns.
I then work with my clients to proactively manage themselves in the context of their systems and identify and implement new behaviors so as to change the patterns that need changing and reinforce those that are sound.
In my practice I work primarily with the following client type:
- Committed couples seeking to resolved detrimental relationship patterns and develop nurturing patterns,
- Couples preparing for marriage,
- Couples coping with the stresses associated specifically related to infertility and adoption,
- Individuals seeking to make changes in personal patterns,
- Individuals seeking to examine spiritual and faith aspects of life, and
- Individuals seeking to experience greater personal fulfillment and professional success.
I work with my clients to set realistic treatment goals, making use of “homework,” assigned reading and other outside resources. If need be, a client may be referred to a psychiatrist for medical evaluation.
Finally, I believe that therapy is a process and requires time, effort and commitment in order to see change. Length of treatment varies. But remember, You did not get into this pattern overnight; you can’t generally fix it overnight!

Fees range from $50 to $130 per hour, based on income. Some insurance and Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover cards accepted.
