As a marriage and family therapist, my approach to psychotherapy is proactive and solution-focused so that my patients are able to quickly find the hope that is hidden within their particular life struggle. In doing so, I emphasize the strengths and resiliencies found within the individual, the couple, and the family so that possibilities for change that may have been overlooked in the past become evident and achievable. I work with children, adolescents and adults on both an individual and family basis. I also work with couples experiencing marital difficulties, couples interested in pre-marital counseling and couples of divorce who wish to learn cooperative parenting skills - whether it be counseling with divorced spouses or with a same-sex step-parent and biological parent who wish to work toward a more harmonious relationship. Other areas of specialty include teaching patients of all ages time, organizational and stress reduction skills for managing ADD, providing parents with tools and strategies for managing children's behavioral difficulties, working with patients who are grieving the death of a loved one or loss associated with life transitions such as empty nest, mid-life and adult children returning home to live. As a certified employee assistance professional, I provide assessment, referral and counseling at no charge to employees of most major corporations and federal agencies in the south metro Atlanta area as well as many smaller companies(see below for a partial list). I assist employees with job stress and burn-out, financial difficulties, job conflict with others, and any life concern affecting their ability to work productively. I enjoy working with people of every age and from all walks-of-life.
