Practice Description
Now Offering Secure On-line Sessions. Convenient treatment in the privacy/comfort of your home or office.
I help build & repair relationships. The goal is to save your marriage if at all possible and, if not, to make sure that all parties to your family unit understand and can survive the break-up, with the least negative impact on their lives. In practice for over 20 years, we have helped hundreds of individuals, couples and families achieve their relationship goals.
My belief is that marriage is a good thing - is a superb tonic for mental health! One study found that over a 5-year period, getting or staying married reduces symptoms of depression far more than being single or divorced.
Approach: We take a brief therapy approach, because no one wants to spend years, or even months in therapy - nor need they. Your focus will be on solutions not problems, on your strengths not your weaknesses, and on the present not the past. Having counseled hundreds of individuals, couples and families, I have an in-depth understanding of the many underlying causes for strained relationships.
Private on-line sessions: convenient treatment from the comfort of your home or office.
Techniques: My specialties include anger management, conflict resolution, relationship communication training, assertiveness training, all of which can be factors in the complexities of marriage and family relationships. I also use cognitive and behavioral techniques to help clients manage: attention deficit; a difficult child; anger; depression; panic attacks; grief; loss; and stress.
I consider professional training to be a continuing responsibility. To keep up with the latest developments in the field, I take specialized classes and am active in several professional organizations.
