Practice Description
One of my practice is dedicated to the needs of exceptional children and their families. I am interested in assisting gifted and twice-excpetional children, as well as children with learning disabilities and social communication difficulties. I identify underlying factors contributing to academic underachievement as well as social skills and behavior challenges. I collaborate with families, teachers, and other adults in a child's life and assist with advocacy and IEPs. I also provide therapy services for children struggling to understand and manage over-excitabilities, stress, anxiety, depression, and sensory overwhelm. I provide a combination of family, dyadic, and individual sessions to address these issues thoroughly. Additionally, I provide play therapy for children of divorce and other expressions grief and loss.
Another emphasis of my practice is assisting adults with depression, anxiety, chronic stress. I emphasize the role of family-of-origin issues in my assessment process and work from a Bowenian and cognitive-behavioral modality.
