Practice Description
In addition to his training and experience providing individual, couples and family therapy, Richard has extensive experience treating adolescents, young adults and adults who are recovering from the effects of physical, sexual or emotional trauma as well as clients who are suffering from symptoms of depression and anxiety. He works with clients individually, as couples or in conjunction with family members and significant others. Richard works within a best practices model while accounting for individual strengths, common factors and sources of resilience.
The development of safe, and respectful therapeutic relationships with clients is a priority at the beginning of therapy, and that collaboration helps to determine therapy goals and suitable approaches. Richard also maintains a sensitivity and openness to individual issues of growth and change that clients might want to deal with separately from their families. He has training and experience in Structural and Contextual family therapy approaches as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and brief solution focused approaches
