Practice Description
I use variety of approaches to help clients. Which approach depends on what that individual client needs. For example, depression or anxiety might need simple behavior changes to improve. Or might recognize a particular client might need to learn relaxation techniques. Or guided imagery might help a client find the deep issues behind their current pain. These approaches are complemented by core values of integrity, compassion, spirituality and respect.
Using an integrative approach supports addressing the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspect of the person or family. As an example I may suggest to clients presenting with depression/anxiety that they see their primary care physician to have their thyroid and or vitamin D levels checked. Studies have found there is a direct link to a higher incidence of anxiety and depression associated with problems in these areas. When the physical body functions optimally there is more vitality and willingness to address the mental, emotional and spiritual issues causing discord in life.
