Practice Description
I use proven brief therapy approaches to help COUPLES, FAMILIES, and INDIVIDUALS reduce distress and achieve more satisfying lives. I specialize in working with COUPLES using methods from Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy. I clarify each partner's goals and concerns, identify troublesome patterns, and set a direction for change. Couples then decide if they want to work with me further to reduce hurtful conflict and increase emotional and sexual intimacy. I also treat couples preparing for marriage, experiencing infidelity, or adjusting to separation and divorce.
With FAMILIES facing difficulties with children's, teens', or other adult family members' behavior, I use a systems therapy approach to change interactions and arrive at workable solutions.
With INDIVIDUALS experiencing anxiety, depression, addictions, or feeling stuck, I use methods drawn from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I help people clarify what they really want, understand the barriers they are facing, and find healthy ways to get around those barriers in order to take action towards their valued goals. I am also consulted by those who wish to integrate their Christian faith with their therapy.
