Practice Description
I am in general practice as a psychotherapist/marriage and family therapist through the Counseling Center of Holy Redeemer in Huntingdon Valley - most insurance programs accepted. In addition, Alpha-Omega Counseling is my private practice of Christian Counseling in Jenkintown. Through each practice I offer creative, individualized therapy to individuals, couples and families of a wide range of ages and circumstances. Particular areas of focus include personal and interpersonal conflict and growth, issues of adolescence, depression and anxiety, grief and loss, trauma recovery, divorce recovery, marriage preservation, spiritual and life direction. I have had a significant degree of multi-national, cross-cultural experience.
My work is grounded in the principles and precepts of Scripture pertaining to our relationships with God and one another, integrated with knowledge and expertise from the field of marriage and family therapy.
The process of therapy is as follows: We will begin to develop treatment goals and a treatment plan during the first session, based on your presenting concerns. As you tell your story, we will begin to reflect on your life situation, its message and the options it presents for growth and change. Christian counseling will also include the invitation to bring awareness of God's direction for you into the process of therapy. In each setting we will join these reflections with practical treatment strategies appropriate to you. A session often includes homework to help carry the treatment forward and to foster change. Christian counseling also may include prayer to bring the expressed concerns and growth areas under the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
A session usually lasts 50 minutes. We will fit the duration of treatment and frequency of sessions to your personal needs as therapy progresses.
