Practice Description
Robin Shultz is the founder and Clinical Director of New Legends Counseling, Coaching and Consulting, LLC. Robin’s passion for helping couple, individuals, and families to cultivate the internal resources necessary to develop and maintain satisfying lives grew out of her experiences working with people who wanted or needed to, make positive changes in their lives. Having worked for over ten years in private practice settings with individuals, couples, and families, for over fifteen years as a school social worker, and for seven years as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor and Therapeutic Recreation Specialist in a residential substance abuse treatment center, Robin brings a broad range of personal and practical experience to the treatment venue.
Robin is a firm believer in the importance of living life proactively. To this end, she incorporates experiential and/or behavior change activities into treatment plans when appropriate to support the attainment of agreed upon treatment goals. Leisure lifestyle assessment, leisure education, and leisure resource identification provided by a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) are also available to clients as an additional service should they choose, in order to enhance and sustain positive lifestyle changes made during their treatment.
Clinically, Robin practices from a systems perspective. Licensed as both a Clinical Social Worker and a Marriage and Family Therapist, Robin tailors her practice to meet the needs of each individual, couple, or family that comes for help. In some instances, more in-depth individual work is sought to understand internal processes, and in others, how one gets along within the “systems” in which they are a part (including work, family, couple, or other relationships) is what people want help with. Whatever the situation, Robin is dedicated to assisting people in learning new ways to live more effective and enriched lives, both individually, and with the people who matter most to them. Robin specializes in Bowen Family Systems Coaching and frequently uses this style of treatment to help individuals, couples, and families develop more satisfying and healthier relationships.
