Practice Description
My professional interests include psychotherapy with parent-child dyads, parent support from an attachment-focused lens, and individual work with adults and teens. I have experience and interest in working with families impacted by attachment issues, adoption, foster care, trauma, and the LGBTQIA+ community. Currently, I am only conducting sessions virtually. A lifelong learner, I earned a bachelor's degree in Clinical Psychology from Towson University, a Master’s Degree and Certificate of Advanced Study in School Psychology from Towson University, a Graduate Certificate in the Education of Students with Autism and Other Pervasive Developmental Disorders from Johns Hopkins University, a Master’s Degree in Couple and Family Therapy from University of Maryland College Park, and a Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy Creative Systemic Studies from University of Louisiana at Monroe. With over 35 years of experience, I bring compassion, humor, and creativity to my work with individuals and families. I have worked as a School Psychologist for the Howard County Public School System, provided parent consultation for families impacted by autism spectrum disorder through my private practice, and facilitated workshops for families throughout the United States, Canada, and in South Africa. I am an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and have been an Adjunct Clinical Supervisor as well as an Adjunct Instructor for the Couple and Family Therapy Program at University of Maryland College Park. I have received training in Theraplay®, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Relationship Development Intervention (RDI®), and trauma-focused play-based interventions. I am a Certified DDP Practitioner, a Level 2 AEDP Therapist, a Certified Theraplay® Practitioner, and a Registered Circle of Security Parent Educator.
