Practice Description
Psychological trauma work is my specialty as well as its impact on the individual and his/her family system. Sources of trauma include but are not limited to: COSR (Combat Operational Stress Reaction); PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder); ASR (Acute Stress Reaction); MST (Military Sexual Trauma); other rape/sexual assault; EMT, ER and Search & Rescue personnel; firefighters; law enforcement; vicarious/secondary trauma; childhood trauma (affecting survivors later in life); motor vehicle or airplane accidents; traumatic loss; and complicated grief. My Colorado licenses include: LMFT (Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist), LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor), and CACI (Certified Addiction Counselor).
I began working primarily, but not exclusively, with military members and their families, in 2007. I grew up in a war veteran household. I interned at Evans Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson, Colorado and have worked at Cedar Springs Behavioral Health Hospital, at Haven Warrior Support Center, and in private practice. I am paneled on Tricare, United Health Care Military West, Aetna, Cigna, Great West, and Cofinity.
My specialized training includes: CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy); EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing); Psychodrama; Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy; and family therapy.
Before finding my true calling here, I was another type of counselor: a trial lawyer in California for 18 years.
