Practice Description
I am a bilingual/bicultural Spanish speaking Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My license and training has exclusively focused on clinical practices. I seek to accompany my clients on their journey towards emotional healing and self-worth. I know that therapy is a difficult and often painful process of self-discovery. It is most effective when done in a supportive and empathic environment where it feels safe to be challenged, to explore the influence of the past, and to make changes in the here and now. As such are the beliefs and practices stemming from psychodynamic theory.
My clinical practice has focused on treating issues dealing with depression, anxiety, childhood trauma, sexual orientation, and loss. I have several years of experience as a psychotherapist working with individuals, couples and families of various backgrounds and culture.
I utilize a variety of intervention techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Guided Imagery, Gestalt Therapy and Art Therapy.
I work to help people by establishing a trusting and comfortable relationship with me so that people can feel free to share and not be concerned with feeling judged. I help people get to know themselves fully in relationships and with themselves- essential to improving self-confidence and self esteem
