Practice Description
Have the demands of career, marriage or parenting become overwhelming? Are you worried about your kids? Have your problems become unmanageable? Have you become more isolated or are you relying on substances to help you calm down and cope? When anxiety and sadness are more prevalent than hope or happiness, I can help.
My work starts by separating people from their problems. Together, we'll examine those problems in the context of family history, relationships and today's cultural expectations. I believe revealing what is genuinely important and meaningful to you, recognizing your possibilities and strengths, and breaking down obstacles is the path leading to solutions.
I work with a diverse group of clients, including adolescents, couples, and families, but my focus is on young adults. I specialize in issues related to parenting, step & blended families, single parenting, alcohol & substance abuse, depression (including postpartum), anxiety, crisis intervention, career stress, and difficult life transitions. I also have a special interest in helping people with type 1 diabetes and their families cope with the unique psychological and emotional effect of the disease.
