Practice Description
Many of us seek therapy when we are unhappy in our relationships or because we feel lonely and isolated. Sometimes, it is the relationship that we have with ourselves that causes our unhappiness. Therapy provides an opportunity for us to understand ourselves within the context of a relationship designed for self exploration. As we come to better understand our beliefs about ourselves and others, our closest relationships may begin to change for the better. Sometimes individual therapy is appropriate. Other times, therapy is more helpful when we are joined by our partners or family members.
My therapetuic style is warm, empathic, and direct. I believe that successful psychotherapy is fundamentally about the relationship between the therapist and client and I work towards establishing a collaborative relationship based on mutal respect, trust, and understanding.
I specialize in working with couples and families on a wide range of issues including parenting, communication, conflict, and intimacy and a have a particular interest in concerns related to being adopted or raising adopted children. My work with individuals has focused on personal exploration, improving relationships, and managing depression and/ or anxiety.
