Name
Shelley A. Hanson, M.A., LPC, LMFT
Practice Description
I work with individuals, couples and families. My primary areas of focus are in identity formation, life transitions - which may include moving to a new area, unexpected pregnancy, postpartum issues, or even empty nest - as well as couple conflict, relationship enhancement, and family lifecycle transitions. Issues of depression, anxiety, adjustment, eating, and healing from sexual abuse are all areas of emphasis. One's physical, emotional, spiritual, and emotional worldview is explored and the therapeutic process is used to enhance awareness and purposefulness in making decisions for moving forward with personal goals. I utilize an Adlerian approach - believing all persons are of value and can "make up for" things they have not yet had - and incorporate an attachment, neurobiological approach to therapy.
